TROUT GmbH is a business enterprise specializing in information technology and systems engineering. TROUT has amassed a comprehensive fund of know-how and expertise during many years of project work in the areas of aerospace, automotive technology and medical technology.

TROUT GmbH’s business model is based on R&D contracting in the aforementioned areas and on establishing our product range. We specialise in technical/scientific software and systems engineering according to specified methods and standards. To agree on the further approach concerning the development and to conduct a first experiment to test the preliminary version of our 'Intelligent Driver's Seat', the majority of the project participants met in TROUT's premises. The project initiated by TROUT is supported by the state of Hesse within the framework of LOEWE funding.

Academia meets Industry IV – Bridge the gap

The 4 d's "Diagnosis, Drug, Device, Data" are the  motto of the 4th "Academia meets Industry IV - Bridge the gap" event, organised by the IGH, in Frankfurt 17th November 2017. Representatives from industry, IT, science and politics discuss these topics in technical lectures with the objective of promoting networking across sectors. TROUT participates in the accompanying poster exhibition presenting the latest developments regarding the classification of vitality paramters.


CNN model for retinal image processing

The medical technology company, Aurteen Inc. from Calgary, Canada, with specialty in development of software for CAD of preterm retinal disorders and assessment of signs of severe diabetic retinopathy has engaged TROUT in a new project. Similar to other activities from TROUT, we again follow a non-invasive approach applying machine learning tools.


Building on past projects featuring ANN (artificial neural networks) and decision trees such as NIVAB and VITAB, TROUT will now generate a CNN (convolutional neural network) model for the recognition of blood vessels and the optic nerve head in retinal images. The next step will be the detection of suspicious and possibly pathological signs of the disease.

R & D Project Vitality Data Analysis

TROUT's innovative concepts and experience particularly in the area of machine learning convinced the decision-making committee of the Hessian research funding program LOEWE so that we will receive funds to further develop our VITAsystem in a new R & D project. 

In cooperation the project partners TROUT GmbH, the University of Kassel and an industry partner will develop a prototype of an intelligent driver's seat processing the driver's vitality parameters and evaluating the cognitive states, among others, in the dimensions fatigue, focus and stress level. This project connects the objectives to increase the safety as well as the comfort of the driver. Further developments, also beyond the automobile field, are planned, 

MedTech Summit 2017 – MT Connect

TROUT takes the opportunity and visits the MT-Connect (21.-22.06.2017) congress, which is combined with the MedTech Summit 2017 congress. Both trade fairs feature current trends and developments; especially Mobile Health, Strategic Partnerships, Technologies and Diagnostics. Every area of the produt cycle is represented. Thus, TROUT is looking forward to discussing amongst other things possible applications of VITAB within the Partnering Event.  


3rd Hessisches Kooperationsforum

TROUT is participating as exhibitor in the 3rd Nordhessisches Kooperationsforum, which is a great opportunity for company representatives to establish contacts across sectors. This year the organisers i.e. the Regionalmanagement Nordhessen, lay the focus upon the foundation of startup companies. Brigitte Zypries, the current Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, is the keynote speaker. 


HMI in Medical Technology 2016

TROUT is exhibitor at the medical technology forum "HMI in der Medizintechnik 2016" organised by MedTech Pharma e.V. and Bayern Innovativ. Focus of the discussions is on latest developments in HMI design, the interface of operation and design as well as analysis of ergonomics, design and user experience in medical technology.

The project series VITAB focusses on collecting and processing vital 

data laying emphasis on the user's well-being, health needs and safety. The system measures and classifies the vitality parameters through selected sensors and artificial intelligence and provides an evaluation. In case a value lies within a critical range, immediate action can be taken accordingly.
