Bundeswehr Logistics Forum
Efficient logistics service provision must be ensured equally for all logistics sectors in times of crisis and war.
This year’s Bundeswehr Logistics Forum, held in Erfurt on September 9-10, 2025, addressed precisely these challenges. High-ranking representatives from the Federal Ministry of Defence and the Bundeswehr provided a concrete framework. National perspectives, insights, experiences, and capabilities from the commercial sector rounded out this picture.
The Bundeswehr Logistics System, or LogSysBw for short, is far more than just logistics within the Bundeswehr. It encompasses all logistics service providers that support Bundeswehr operations. These include, in particular, the logistical elements of the Support Division established in 2024, primarily the Bundeswehr Logistics Command, the logistical components of the armed forces, the commercial resources committed or to be committed through contracts, and cooperation with allied armed forces.
Trout presented the current version of the Vehicle Data Analyzing System at its own booth. VeDAS provides a highly developed, adaptive system that goes far beyond traditional data acquisition. Through the combination of sensor technology, intelligent analysis, and maintenance management, VeDAS enables efficient operational monitoring, preventive maintenance, and early fault detection—and thus represents an important building block for future-oriented vehicle operations.
